Pedagogy
Founded in 1976, the Rudolf Steiner School in Lausanne has over 300 students between the ages of 2 and 20. The school offers a range of different cycles: Jardin des Petits, Jardin d'Enfants, Primary cycle, Secondary cycles I and II, at the end of which students can prepare for the Maturité fédérale by taking an independent exam. It also offers after-school care (UAPE), as well as summer camps and activities during certain vacations.
Founded over 100 years ago and developed in more than 1,500 schools worldwide, Waldorf Steiner education is an alternative school that aims to develop students' practical, intellectual, artistic and emotional abilities in a balanced way, so that they can reach their full potential.
La pédagogie encourage les élèves à s’engager dans une multitude d’activités pratiques, créatives et concrètes afin de faire émerger et de développer leurs propres compétences.
Teaching is structured according to the different stages of a child's development, integrating cognitive, executive, emotional, artistic and manual functions. Particular emphasis is placed on learning through experimentation and creativity.
The teacher's role is to guide students with kindness and respect, fostering a degree of autonomy and the ability to think for themselves and contribute meaningfully to society.

Au cœur d’un écrin de verdure, l’école Rudolf Steiner de Lausanne est installée depuis 1992 dans le domaine de Bois Genoud, près de Crissier. Elle se situe à deux pas de la ville, dans un cadre protégé et en pleine nature au milieu d’une réserve ProNatura.
Elle a pour vocation d’être un lieu d’apprentissages riches et respectueux du développement de l’enfant.

Art & Creativity
Les activités artistiques et artisanales occupent une place centrale dans les écoles Steiner- Waldorf, qui reconnaissent notamment l’importance de l’expression artistique comme un moyen pour stimuler la pensée, le raisonnement et approfondir la compréhension du monde.
Ainsi, la peinture, le dessin, la couture, la sculpture, la menuiserie, la musique, le théâtre, le mouvement et autres activités sont intégrés dans le cursus scolaire de l’école de Lausanne. Ces activités permettent aux élèves de développer leur imagination, leur sensibilité esthétique, leur sens pratique, l’expression orale et leur confiance en eux.

About the Association
Founded in 1976, the Rudolf Steiner School Association enabled the school to open first in Lausanne-Vennes, then in Morges in 1982, before finally settling on the magnificent Bois-Genoud site in Crissier.
Actuellement, l’école compte plus de 300 élèves entre 2 et 20 ans. Les membres de l’association accompagnent et soutiennent les enseignants pour un fonctionnement optimal de l’école. L’association fonctionne grâce à une collaboration étroite entre enseignants, parents et collaborateurs. Chacun et chacune contribue à soutenir l’école par ses compétences et un peu de son temps.
L’association est gérée par ses membres et par divers processus de décisions. L’école est dotée d’un conseil administratif et un conseil pédagogique qui encouragent la participation active de l’ensemble des membres de l’association Rudolf Steiner de Lausanne.

Opening up to the world
Suisse alémanique, Allemagne, Canada, États-Unis, Australie, Nouvelle-Zélande, Pérou… En 10e classe, les élèves ont la possibilité de partir dans une autre école Steiner afin de perfectionner leurs connaissances d’une langue étrangère.
Une famille ayant un enfant du même âge les accueille afin que les cours puissent être suivis dans la langue du pays choisi. Le programme scolaire sera à peu de choses près le même que celui de l’école d’origine. Par la suite, ou en amont, la famille en Suisse recevra l’élève de langue étrangère pour un laps de temps identique (les deux élèves vivent le stage dans la même classe, dans un pays puis dans l’autre, en s’épaulant mutuellement). De ce fait, les familles continuent à payer la contribution habituelle de son école.

In these early years, the little explorer discovers the world by crawling, standing and walking. Every word he utters is a leap forward in his development. He learns through play, touch, all his senses and joyful interaction with his environment.

As your child approaches the end of adolescence, he or she is taking more and more initiative and preparing to enter the adult world. Responsibility, autonomy and preparation for a future career or higher education become central.

as an independent candidate
"Ma matu en candidat libre" is a support structure at the Rudolf Steiner School in Lausanne that helps students prepare for the Swiss Maturité exam. It welcomes young people aged 18 and over, motivated to work independently while benefiting from a context of mutual support, knowledge sharing and networking.

A pedagogy that celebrates 100 years in 2019
Video produced in preparation for the forthcoming centenary of Waldorf Steiner education.
In 1919, industrialist Emil Molt, director of the Waldorf-Astoria factory, founded the Waldorf School for the children of his workers in Stuttgart.
Rudolf Steiner, founder of anthroposophy (from "anthropos" man and "sophia" wisdom), was commissioned by Emile Molt to develop and implement the school's pedagogical concepts.

Bus No. 18 stops at Bois-Genoud. It takes around 20 minutes to reach the school and Le Castel restaurant.
Car
Sur l’autoroute A1, prendre la sortie Crissier (sortie 18).
Après la sortie, continuer sur la Route de Marcolet en direction de Crissier, pendant 1 km. Au rond-point, prendre la première sortie sur Route de Prilly en direction de Chemin du Bois-Genoud, pendant 1 km. Tourner à droite sur le Chemin du Bois-Genoud.
